Fuck it, we’re going on a holiday… with GUTTERMOUTH

Fuck it, we’re going on a holiday… with GUTTERMOUTH

We’re packing our bags, locking the office and joining Guttermouth on the best tour this year (well, you can’t deny it’s going to be fucking fun!!)

Last time Guttermouth visited Australia, New Noise Agency took them to the major capital cities, alongside a visit to Toowoomba’s Eidican festival. These depraved genius legends of California’s Punk community sold out shows, shocked newcomers and far surpassed the expectations of faithful fans. All in a day’s work for one of the hardest working – and hardest living – bands in their genre.

Not content with already seeing more of the country than most bands ever will, though, New Noise will be presenting the return of Guttermouth in 2010 – but not for any ordinary tour. Over an entire month, Guttermouth will be traveling to the far reaches of Australian regional centres and major cities alike, as well as the band’s first visit to South East Asia. Whether a skeptic or a convert, an old fan or new, and wherever you happen to be, 2010 is your year to catch the best in the business at the top of their game.

What’s more, the entire epic journey is being recorded by Brisbane filmmaker Rhys Day for a forthcoming documentary! With a reputation for antics that almost overtakes their musical legacy, New Noise are excited to show the world what it’s like to spend a month on the road with Guttermouth – and while you might not be able to come along for the ride, the opportunity to see them in your town has the makings of some of the most chaotic fun you’ll ever have, clothed or otherwise.

New Noise received an overwhelmingly positive response to their announcement of CKY’s upcoming Australian tour – so positive, in
fact, that they’ve decided to sweeten to deal for the legions of dedicated fans who’ve snapped up tickets!

As these dedicated followers will already know, CKY earned initial notoriety through the use of their music in Bam Margera’s legendary
skate videos, also called CKY. Bam’s brother Jess is a founding member of the band, and their respective careers have continued to
grow together, with Bam receiving enormous exposure through his role in JACKASS and Viva La Bam.

2010 sees the return of JACKASS to cinemas worldwide, with the entire original cast appearing in JACKASS 3D. Bam managed to
break three ribs and a shoulder whilst filming, as well as spraining his ankle – and that’s to say nothing of Johnny Knoxville’s extensions
to his own already mile-long medical record. So what did New Noise dream up? As a bonus for CKY’s Australian tour, BAM MARGERA
will be accompanying the band, appearing at each show to present an exclusive taste of what you can expect in JACKASS 3D.

Tickets are still available, but are selling fast, so don’t miss your chance to see one of the world’s hardest hitting bands alongside one of
the hardest hurting men in showbiz.

Misfits AU/NZ Tour 2011

Misfits AU/NZ Tour 2011

With a span of influence both wider and more significant than anyone could have plausibly hoped for in 1978, not to mention a history of live shows which leave lesser bands cowering in their wake, New Noise can scarcely believe it themselves – Australia, prepare yourselves for MISFITS in 2011!!

Misfits

Legions of imitators have followed behind these trailblazers of horror punk – but in the end, there is no-one quite like them. Members may have come and gone, but alongside the iconic logo and the Devilocks, their caustic mix of driving songs and 50’s b-movie imagery has remained constant. Few bands could claim either as much influence or durability after 30 years as MISFITS- and even fewer are still around to prove it!

With a line-up consisting of founding member Jerry Only plus legendary Black Flag members Dez Cadena and ROBO,The Misfits live in 2010 promises an unmatched level of visceral energy and unrivaled showmanship. Don’t miss your chance to experience firsthand why, even after three decades, there’s no-one who outdoes MISFITS.

SNFU Tour Cancellation

SNFU member denied entry to Australia

Is it possible to live the values of your sub-culture too completely? Can members of punk bands be accused of being “too punk”? SNFU never thought so. Unfortunately, the Australian Government doesn’t seem to agree.

With fans eagerly awaiting their 2010 tour, we here at New Noise Agency have been informed by Australian Customs that a member has been denied a Visa, based on prior convictions – meaning he can’t legally enter Australia. As much as we’ve tried to fight this decision and find a way around it, we’ve been left with no choice other than to cancel SNFU’s forthcoming tour. You’ll be able to get refunds on your pre-sale tickets from the point of purchase.

Rest assured that we’re as angry as you are about it, but we will nonetheless continue to bring you tours from the world’s most exciting and influential punk bands. To that end, we’ll be announcing more exciting tours in the coming weeks!

GBH Australian Tour

There isn’t a self-respecting gutter punk, hardcore kid or subcultural miscreant alive who hasn’t seen the GBH logo emblazoned on the back of a leather jacket, a denim vest, or a torn-up t-shirt. And now, Australia and New Zealand will be slapped upside the head with a timely reminder as to exactly why GBH have been the heavyweight band of the UK punk scene for over 30 years.

GBH backstageFans will look forward to a fist-pumping, palace-gates-storming live show by a band who re-defined the ‘UK82’ punk sound with tracks like “Sick Boy”, “City Baby Attacked by Rats” and “Time Bomb” (to name a few). Their eleventh studio album (via Hellcat Records) carries the torch forward and introduces a new generation of fans to the band’s trademark fury that is alternately nihilistic, optimistic, pessimistic, anarchist, violent, humorous and deadly serious all at once.

After years of speculation, groundbreaking English hardcore punk band GBH will tour Australia and New Zealand on the back of their eleventh studio album, Perfume and Piss (Hellcat Records) in October 2010.

cKy Australian / New Zealand Tour!!!

After a triumphant visit to our shores in 2006, New Noise Agency are proud to bring the band back to Australia! 2010 will be a year The Alliance will not soon forget!

cKy don’t make compromises – it’s as simple as that. They’ve spent 13 years making sure that both their fans and detractors know it. Lesser bands might not have even emerged from the small Pennsylvania town it’s members met in, let alone crafted their deeply original blends of the experimental and familiar, of metal and rock. In the band’s own words “cKy’s goal is clear: To force change within the music industry and bring rock back to an acceptable state.”

After the writing for their 4th album almost ended the band, cKy instead refocused and gathered anew behind this mission, and released Carver City in 2009. Following this, and after a triumphant visit to our shores in 2006, New Noise Agency are proud to bring the band back to Australia! 2010 will be a year The Alliance will not soon forget!

“It’s been way too long since we last played Australia. We had such an amazing time on our 2006 tour – I can’t wait to get back. Especially playing New Zealand for the first time!” – Jess Margera

SNFU & Strike Anywhere in New Zealand!

As one of the longest running, most popular Canadian punk acts of all time, SNFU barely need an introduction.

They continue to live up to their reputation of impressive live shows under the leadership and creative direction of founding member Mr. Chi Pig (vocals).

Since 1985, SNFU (originally an acronym for Society’s No Fucking Use) have released a steady stream of albums (9 in total) for some of Punk Rock’s most prestigious record labels. Cargo, Alternative Tentacles and the mighty Epitaph Records are all part of SNFU’s recording résumé. Not to mention they once beat Fugazi, Jane’s Addiction and Red Hot Chilli Peppers for a Best Live Band award!

Strike Anywhere is more than just a band; they are a movement, a sound and a force. The band’s incredibly solid career has spanned ten years across the globe, releasing four critically acclaimed albums while remaining a staple in the underground music scene since their inception.

Undoubtedly one of the most influential melodic hardcore bands of our time, Strike Anywhere formed in 1999 in Richmond, VA and continue to break down the walls of what it is to be punk. With release of their Bridge Nine Records debut, Iron Front, and the anthemic single ‘I’m your opposite number’ the momentum in Strike Anywhere’s career continues to grow from strength to strength.

Two such great bands as Strike Anywhere and SNFU on stage together can only mean one thing…a hell of a great night!

Here is a statement from the band:

To all fans,

Regretfully Bad Brains are forced to cancel the June Australian dates due to personal health issues that don’t allow the stresses of the travel involved at this time.

We hope to rebook the tour before the end of the year or early 2011.This is a disappointment for us and we know a great disappointment for our Australian fans.

We are very sorry and will do all we can to make it up to them.

All praises unto the almighty.

Frontman Chi Pig keeping the ‘FU’ in SNFU

Frontman Chi Pig keeping the ‘FU’ in SNFU

Their moniker allegedly means “Society’s No Fucking Use.”

Trying to track down the legendary punk frontman Mr. Chi Pig was a difficult process. I finally found the singer of seminal punk band SNFU down at Pub 340 in downtown Vancouver. After several failed attempts, the waitress called me back on the bar’s phone and passed it off.

“I’m not an easy guy to get a hold of,” Pig says. After a couple of weeks of emails and phone calls, I’m well aware of how elusive he can be.

Punk is often dismissed as a rebellious teenage phase, but the 47-year-old is as full of vitriol as ever. It seems strange to talk to a man who has been involved with such an important band for longer than I have been alive. In the early ’80s, SNFU brought their brand of melodic hardcore to the forefront of the punk scene, alongside acts like Youth Brigade and 7 Seconds. Emerging at a time when punk was a legitimate movement in society, the band lived their reputation to the fullest. Their moniker allegedly means “Society’s No Fucking Use.”
